WEIGHT LOSS COMPETITION HELD AT CHANDIGARH PRESS CLUB , PRABHAT KATYAR AND NIDHI WAHI WINS

AROUND 120 MEMBERS AND THEIR SPOUSES PARTICIPATED IN THE WEIGHT LOSS COMPETITION – THE BIGGEST LOSER CHALLENGE – AS PART OF THE CHANDIGARH PRESS CLUB'S FOUNDERS MONTH CELEBRATIONS, PRABHAT KATIYAR, WITH A WEIGHT LOSS OF 18.580 KG, BAGGED THE TOP AWARD IN THE MEN'S CATEGORY

The prize distribution ceremony for the event was held today (July 27). Participants who achieved even a 2 kg weight loss were awarded.

Prabhat Katiyar, with a weight loss of 18.580 kg, bagged the top award in the men's category. Mansa Ram Rawat was placed second with a weight loss of 12.880 kg, while Rajinder Sharma secured third place with a weight loss of 11.070 kg. Atish Gupta came fourth with a weight loss of 8.380 kg, while Nitin Sharma (photojournalist) has lost 6.730 kg and is ranked fifth in the men’s category. 

Ajay Jalandhari and Abraham Verghese were tied for sixth, each achieving a weight loss of 6.700 kg. The participants who were earlier ranked fifth have now been moved to the sixth position.

Leading by example and encouraging fitness among members, the club's president, Saurabh Duggal, also lost 13.780 kg. However, as he had decided earlier, he abstained from being ranked.

(SUBHEAD)In the women’s category, Nidhi Wahi won first place with a weight loss of 7.300 kg. Nitasha Sharma, with a weight loss of 5.860 kg, came second, while Vandana Dhall, with a loss of 5.340 kg, finished third. Sarla Rawat, with a weight loss of 4.680 kg, finished fourth, while Satinder Kaur, with 4.510 kg, took fifth place.

Former national-level long-distance runner Barinder Singh Rawat, who has also served as President of the club, was the chief guest. Fitness expert Suresh Kumar was the guest of honour.

The event was sponsored by SS Fitness Club. Prizes worth Rs.1 lakh were distributed among the winners, the top five participants, and all those who lost a minimum of 2 kg, said Rajesh Dhall, Secretary General
