AAP REMOTELY CONTROLLING PUNJAB FROM DELHI, EYEING FARMERS’ LAND UNDER LAND POOLING SCHEME: ASHWANI SHARMA

Launching a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), State BJP Working President Ashwani Sharma today alleged that AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal and former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia were looting Punjab’s interests while running the state's affairs remotely from Delhi.

Addressing a massive workers' rally in Ferozepur, Sharma accused AAP of attempting to seize farmers’ land in the name of land pooling. “We stand firmly with the farmers of Punjab. Not even an inch of their land will be allowed to be taken away,” he said, announcing a statewide BJP agitation to safeguard farmers’ rights.

(SUBHEAD)Reacting sharply to the Vigilance Department’s raid at the residence of local businessman Ranjit Singh Gill earlier in the day, Sharma termed it as political vendetta. “AAP leaders had earlier tried to woo Gill into their party, but he chose BJP after being inspired by PM Narendra Modi’s vision. Today’s raid is nothing but the outcome of AAP’s frustration,” he alleged.

Earlier, Sharma was accorded a warm welcome by senior BJP leaders including Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi, Rakesh Rathore, Surjit Kumar Jiyani, Manpreet Singh Badal, Manjit Singh Rai, Avtar Singh Meena, D.P. Chandan, and other local BJP functionaries at a marriage palace where the rally was held.
