In a significant stride towards fostering environmentally sustainable industrial growth, the Government of Himachal Pradesh is set to engage approximately 1,900 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) under structured Green Transition initiatives, with plans to expand this outreach to over 2,500 enterprises.

To realize this vision, the Department of Industries, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh, under the Central Government’s ‘Greening of MSMEs’ scheme, has launched a series of awareness workshops across the state. On Thursday  focused workshops were successfully conducted in Paonta Sahib and Kala Amb, district Sirmaur.

(MOREPIC1) This initiative forms a vital component of the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) programme, implemented by the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, with support from the World Bank. These workshops were jointly organized by Department of Industries, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh along with Frost& Sullivan and TINGE.

In his address, Mr. Satish Goel, Chairman of the Himachal Chamber of Commerce and Industries, lauded the government’s ongoing efforts to encourage green transformation within the MSME sector. He underscored the importance of ensuring that these schemes effectively reach the enterprises most in need and stressed simplifying processes for better access.

Mr. A.K. Gautam, Assistant Director Grade-I (IEDS), Ministry of MSME, GoI, delivered a comprehensive presentation detailing various MSME schemes designed to be accessible and beneficial. He assured full support to MSMEs throughout the engagement, emphasizing streamlined registration, improved market access, encouragement of innovation, and adoption of sustainable practices. Key advantages such as credit facilitation, government procurement support, and capacity-building opportunities were also highlighted.
