In a significant development, Amritsar BJP Leader Akshay Sharma on Saturday was elected the new President of prestigious Punjab Wretsling Association, after outgoing head Raman Kumar proposed Akshay Sharma's name.

(MOREPIC1)The meeting to elect the new President was held earlier today at the PAP Complex in Jalandhar where Akshay Sharma was elected by the members of the Association.

Himself and avid sports lover, Akshay Sharma expressed his gratitude towards the lifetime President Olympian Kartar Singh, IPS and the outgoing President Raman Kumar, General Secretary Shahbaz Singh for this opportunity to serve the Association and Punjab's wrestlers.

“My top most priority is to work in close coordination with the Association members to provide facility of lifetime health insurance for all our Wrestlers who toil hard to bring laurels to the sport and our State of Punjab, Akshay Sharma said here while interacting with the mediapersons here.

“During my student days, I have seen so many wrestlers miss competitions for want of funds to pay travelling or competition fee, Amritsar North leader Akshay Sharma said adding that his aim is to ensure no one is left behind for lack of financial support. I would do everything possible to ensure enough funds for our Wrestlers to give their best,” Akshay Sharma added.
