DEPATT OF INDUSTRIES CELEBRATES 2ND ANNIVERSARY OF PM VISHWAKARMA SCHEME

The Directorate of Industries, Himachal Pradesh, today celebrated the second anniversary of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme at its Shimla headquarters.

The occasion was graced by the Chief Guest, Mr. R.D. Nazeem (IAS), Additional Chief Secretary, Industries, Government of Himachal Pradesh, alongside Dr. Yunus (IAS), Director Industries; Dr. Harish Gajju (HAS), Additional Director, Industries (Admin.); Ms. Deepika Khatri and Mr. Anil Thakur, Joint Directors; Ms. Ambika Sood, Deputy Director, GM, DIC, Mr. Sanjay Kanwar and key stakeholders from the MSME and banking sectors. Beneficiaries of the scheme joined the event in person at the venue as well as virtually from all twelve districts of Himachal Pradesh.

The virtual participation was seamlessly coordinated by General Managers of the District Industries Centres (DICs), who organized live video conferences from their respective offices, thereby enabling broad-based district representation and promoting inclusive engagement throughout the event.

In his welcome address, Dr. Yunus (IAS), Director of Industries, Himachal Pradesh, highlighted the smooth implementation of the scheme, noting that over 19,000 applications have been approved and of this, 12,000 artisans have received training. He reaffirmed the department’s strong commitment to supporting artisans and enhancing their skills through this initiative.

ACS, Industries, Mr. Nazeem inaugurated the event with the unveiling of the PM Vishwakarma documentary, illustrating transformative stories of traditional artisans from all across the state. Mr. Nazeem also interacted directly with the beneficiaries from various districts, gathering firsthand accounts of the positive impact the scheme has brought to their lives and livelihoods.

Mr. Nazeem, ACS, Industries, inaugurated the event with the unveiling of the PM Vishwakarma documentary, showcasing transformative stories of traditional artisans from across the state. He also interacted with beneficiaries from various districts, hearing firsthand accounts of the scheme’s impact on their livelihoods.

Artisans and beneficiaries were felicitated under PM Vishwakarma, where Mr. Nazeem (IAS) praised their confidence, market readiness, and efforts to promote Himachali craftsmanship nationwide. He thanked the Government of India and Dr. Rajneesh (IAS), Additional Secretary and Commissioner, MoMSME for their unwavering support. Mr. Nazeem (IAS) further congratulated the entire team for the effective implementation of PM
Vishwakarma Scheme.

Marking the scheme’s 2nd anniversary, the Mr. Tilak Raj Sharma, ADI, Industries shared that the Directorate of Industries is firmly committed to fostering traditional skills, strengthening rural livelihoods, and upholding the vision of ‘Vikasit Bharat’ through inclusive and sustainable development.
