INCLUDE TEACHINGS OF GURU NANAK DEV JI IN THE NATIONAL EDUCATION CURRICULUM, NGO DEMANDS

The 556th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji was celebrated by Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation Pakistan at the Democratic Lawn of the Lahore High Court Bar. The program was presided over by the Foundation chairman Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi.

The Chief guest was former secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association Raja Zulqarnain. Special guests included former member of the Executive Committee of the Supreme Court Bar Ghulam Ullah Khan Joya Advocate, Chairman of the Shia Political Party Nav Bihar Shah, Secretary General PDP Waqar Shah Jangi, President PDP Punjab Shahbaz Rasheed Qureshi, Rana Shahid, Khalid Mehmood, Zaman Khan Kakar Advocate, Sibtain Bukhari, Malik Ehtishamul Hassan, Nasreen Khatak Advocate, Noor Muhammad Kasuri. The participants highlighted the services of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

(SUBHEAD)Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi said that Guru Nanak Dev Ji's message is a source of guidance not only for the Sikh community but for all humanity. He demanded that the government of Pakistan include the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji in the national education curriculum so that the new generations can be enlightened with the true message of tolerance, peace and service to humanity.

The participants appreciated the efforts of the Foundation for keeping alive the memory of a spiritual leader who is a metaphor for peace, solidarity and tolerance in the subcontinent.
