A program was organized at the R.S.D. Girls Middle School, Nai Abadi, to celebrate the birth anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, as Children's Day.

School Managing Committee president Naresh Khurana, Councillor Narinder Verma, Ajay Goyal, Vijay Goyal, Arjun Demla, Raj Sadosh, Prem Sidana, Sanjay Arora CA, Aseem Chhabra, Raju Charaya, Dr. Vijay Gupta, Ravi Kumar, Headmistress Sudesh Rani, Simran, and Ramesh Thakral offered flowers at Pt. Nehru’s portrait.

Naresh Khurana shared a blueprint for the school's development and announced that winter uniforms would be presented to all students next month. Councillor Narinder Verma will be in-charge of this project. He expressed hope that with public support, it would soon be possible to take the school to new heights.

Speakers noted that since independence, only Mahatma Gandhi is known as “Bapu” and Jawaharlal Nehru as “Chacha”. When the country became independent, even needles for sewing clothes were imported from abroad, but due to the efforts of Nehru ji, the country saw all-round development and now leads in the field of information technology.

Dr. Vijay Gupta conducted free medical check-up of all the students and free medicines were also made available, courtesy Vishal Medical Hall. Special emphasis was laid on removing iron and anaemia in children
