NIPER MOHALI HOSTS THE THIRD EDITION OF INDIA’S FIRST INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON GREEN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

The two-day International Conference on Green Science and Technology–2025 (ICGST-2025) commenced on Monday at NIPER-Mohali and will continue till Tuesday. The event is being organized in collaboration with Shizuoka University (Japan), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM Malaysia), Universiti Putra Malaysia–Kuala Lumpur (UPM Malaysia), and Universitas Gadjah Mada (Indonesia), with Granules India Ltd. serving as the Sponsorship Partner.

In the iangural Prof. Dulal Panda discussed the opportunities and challenges in discovering FtsZ-targeted antibacterial agents.

Prof. Nobuyuki Mase from Shizuoka University, Japan gave the brief introduction about the history of ICGST, the first ICGST hosted online by Shizuoka University, Japan in 2021 and the 2nd ICGST-2023 in UTM Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He also shared insights on novel plant hormones using fine-bubble and flow technology.

Prof. Long Chiau Ming from Sunway University, Malaysia, presented an innovative framework integrating virtual screening and machine learning for cancer-related drug discovery. Prof. Hesham Ali El Enshasy from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) highlighted recent advancements in natural anti-infective research aimed at reducing antibiotic resistance.

Prof. Inder Pal Singh, Organizing Secretary, ICGST-2025 mentioned that the journey of ICGST is truly inspiring and more countries are being included in it. He said that this diverse participation reflects the spirit of international collaboration of scientists and scholars from across the world for joining hands for the shared goal of advancing green and sustainable technologies featuring 100+ participants, 33 poster presentations, 9 oral presentations, 14 invited and eight keynote speakers. He said that it is a vibrant platform for sharing innovative ideas and emerging research in diverse areas.

Prof. Dulal Panda, Director NIPER Mohali and Chairperson ICGST-2025, in his welcome address mentioned that it is a pleasure and proud moment for him to welcome all. 

Prof. Ipsita Roy, Dean (Acting), NIPER Mohali in her address said that sustainability is no more a buzz word but has real world meaning and knowledge of sustainability is basic requirement for youngers will inculcate the sustainability in their experiments.
