The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Deputy Chief Engineer, Construction, East Central Railway (ECR) Hajipur, Office Superintendent, O/o the Dy. CE (Cons.), EC Railway, Hajipur, Project Manager and one employees of a private company-M/s JPW Infratech (JPW), in a Bribery case.
CBI registered the instant case on 17.11.2025 based on reliable information against the accused persons. It was revealed that the accused Dy.CE and his sub-ordinate officers of ECR [East Central Railway] at Hajipur in conspiracy with private contractor the accused Project Manager, M/s JPW Infratech (JPW) and Employees of M/s JPW Infratech (JPW) are indulging in corrupt and illegal activities of giving and obtaining bribe money in lieu of undue advantage to the private contractors and turning a blind eye to the usage of inferior quality construction materials by the company, thereby causing wrongful gain to themselves and the company and corresponding huge consequential wrongful loss to the Union exchequer.
CBI laid a trap on 17.11.2025 and Office Superintendent, O/o the Dy. CE(Cons.), EC Railway, Hajipur was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe money from the private persons. Two private persons, Project Manager and an employee of M/s JPW Infratech (JPW) were also arrested. Huge cash amount of ₹98 lakh 81 thousand and 500 kept in 8 different envelops/packet/bags describing different marks/name were also recovered outside the office of the accused public servant.
Further, FIR named accused Dy. CE (Construction), ECR, Hajipur was also detained, interrogated and arrested in the case.So far searches have been conducted at 11 different places viz 5 places in Bihar, 1 in Jharkhand, 3 in Chhattisgarh and 2 in West Bengal. Further searches are underway.
Accused persons were produced in the Court and the Ld. Court has granted custodial interrogation of arrested accused persons.
