Shampy Tanwar has successfully completed India’s toughest and Asia’s largest cycling expedition — K2K (Kashmir to Kanyakumari) Endurance Ride. The expedition was organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India and managed by Dare2Gear.

He completed the journey from the snowy valleys of Kashmir to the southern coast of Kanyakumari, covering a distance of 4249 km in just 16 days from November 1 to November 16. His achievement is a testament to his relentless determination, discipline and extraordinary physical prowess. Out of 150 elite riders selected from across the country, Tanwar has made a name for himself, state of Punjab and Abohar Paddlers Club.

Tanwar, on return, was warmly welcomed at the railway station here by members of Abohar Paddlers Club — Chand Middha, Aman Bhambhu, Jagdeep Singh, Sujawal Gilhotra, Samar Ahuja and Shagandeep Singh. Others present at the station also gave a sounding applause.

He dedicated this ride to his grandfather Late Prem Chand. He expressed special gratitude to Harjit Singh Hazara, who is playing a key role in promoting cycling in the Abohar region and inspiring the youth. He said that Hazara had successfully completed the K2K (Kashmir to Kanyakumari) ride in 2019 and is currently doing a massive ride of K2K Touring and Cycling (Kibithu to Koteshwar).
