MAJOR RESHUFFLE IN CHANDIGARH ADMIN: IAS, HCS AND PCS OFFICERS ASSIGNED NEW ADDITIONAL DUTIES

U.T.  Chandigarh administration on Friday issued an important administrative order changing the functions of several senior officials. In this order issued by the Department of Personnel, four officers have been assigned new additional responsibilities along with their existing duties. 

Diprava Lakra, IAS : He has been given additional charge of Secretary, Excise and Taxation Department. He in this responsibility Sh. Mohammad will replace Mansoor L., IAS.  

Nishant Kumar Yadav, IAS: Yadav has been given the important post of Commissioner, Excise and Taxation Department. He held this position at Sh. Hari will take over from Calicut, IAS. His appointment is believed to accelerate tax collection and system reforms in the department. 

Pradyuman Singh, HCS : Pradyuman Singh has been assigned three important roles simultaneously—Additional Commissioner of Excise and Taxation, Deputy Commissioner of Excise and Taxation Collector (Excise). He will replace Amandeep Singh Bhatti, PCS, in these positions. This multifaceted responsibility is likely to strengthen the regional operations of the department. 

Nitish Singla, PCS: Nitish Singla has been appointed as Director, School Education, making a difference in the education sector. Sh. Amandeep Singh Bhatti, PCS will be relieved of the post. Schools in Chandigarh will benefit from their experience in education quality improvement and implementation of new educational programs. 

Signing the order, U.T. Chandigarh Chief Secretary, Sh. H. Rajesh Prasad, IAS, said the decision was taken to strengthen governance.
