CBI BOOKED ADDITIONAL DIRECTOR CGHS, MEERUT IN DA, CASH OF RS. 29.50 LAKH AND JEWELLERY WORTH OVER RS. 50 LAKH RECOVERED

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a Disproportionate Assets (DA) case on 18.11.2025 against the Additional Director, C.G.H.S., Swasthya Bhawan, Suraj Kund Road, Nehru Nagar, Panchsheel Colony, Meerut, U.P on the allegations that the accused enriched himself illicitly by amassing pecuniary resources and properties, in the name of self and his family members.

The instant DA case is offshoot of a trap case dated 12.08.2025, in which the above mentioned accused and one more accused were trapped while demanding and accepting an illegal gratification of Rs. 5,00,000/- (as 1st installment of demanded bribe of Rs. 50 lakh).

Following this trap, the residence and bank lockers of the accused were also searched. During search operation, cash of Rs. 29.50 lakh and jewellery valued over Rs. 50 lakh were recovered from the premise/locker of the accused. Apart from it, property documents and details of huge investments in Mutual Funds and Share Markets, in the name of accused and his family members, have been obtained.

It was, prima-facie, revealed that the accused, while working as CMO, C.G.H.S. Meerut, U.P. enriched himself illicitly during the period from 01.04.2020 to 13.08.2025 and is in possession of pecuniary resources to the tune of Rs. 2,06,31,845/- which is disproportionate to his known sources of income, to which he cannot satisfactorily account for.

Investigation is continuing.
