A case of ₹3 crore fraud has been registered against jailed real-estate businessman Jarnail Singh Bajwa, MD of Bajwa Developers Ltd., and his son sukhdev Bajwa, following a complaint by Dr. Jagdish Soft, a retired Indian Army captain and well-known dentist from Ludhiana. The FIR was lodged on court orders in Kharar, Mohali. The court has also summoned income-related records from the Income Tax Department due to huge cash transactions.

FIR said, in the year  2011, Dr. Soft invested ₹3.16 Crore to purchase two showrooms in Platinum Market, Sunny Enclave, Kharar,  in the name of his grandson.

He alleges that the property dealers and the developer group forced him into the deal by showing fake maps, forged approvals, and false information.

The showroom deal was finalized for ₹2 crore, and the full amount was paid in cash in 2011. Later, citing an increase in property rates, the accused collected over ₹1 crore additional cash. Despite this, the registry was never executed. When Dr. Soft inspected the site, he discovered tha the sites of showrooms did not exist in the approved layout, and The land was already mortgaged to a bank.

Dr. Soft claims that when he questioned the accused, he was threatened with dire consequences and  and told that the accused had political and police protection.

When no actionwas taken Doctor Soft moved to Court. After receiving no action from the police on his complaint, he moved the court.

The court of JMIC Kharar PCS Shweta Das observed that the facts indicate a cognizable offence. The court directed registration of a case unde section 420 IPC (Cheating), Criminal conspiracy under section 120 IPC and threat to life under section 506 IPC.
