The Government of India, Ministry of Finance, has introduced the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) as an option under the National Pension System (NPS) for Central Government employees covered under NPS.

The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA), vide notification dated 19.03.2025, has notified the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority Regulations, 2025 to operationalise the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS).

The Chandigarh Administration has adopted the above notification for its employees appointed on or after 01.01.2004 and covered under NPS, by providing them an option under the NPS framework.
The last date for submission of option forms, earlier fixed as 30.06.2025, has now been extended to 30.11.2025. All employees of the Chandigarh Administration covered under NPS are requested to submit their options to their respective departments by the due date, i.e., 30.11.2025.

In view of the approaching deadline, a special counter will be opened on 29.11.2025 and 30.11.2025 at the Ground Floor, Reception Counter, Chandigarh Administration Secretariat, for receiving option forms from the eligible employees of Chandigarh Administration. The timing for submission at the special counter will be 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
