The Tricity music aficionados would not have asked for more! They were gungho as they got a sense that acclaimed Bollywood singer and master,would perform and regale the audience at the ongoing Chandigarh National Crafts Mela.

Sudesh Bhosle, who was the star performer of the evening of Sunday wowed the music-lovers with some of the songs of diverse genres immortalized by iconic singers of the times, and compelled music lovers to dance to the songs like Jumma Chumma De De…, Shawa Shawa…, Meri Makhana Meri sohniye…, among others. He struck an emotional chord with the discerning listeners, with soulful songs like Darde Dil, Darde Jigar…, Mere Mehboob Qayamat Hogi…, and Salaam-e-Ishq Meri Jaan Zara Qubool Kar Lo…. His mimickery gigs brought live the dialogues of superstar Amitabh Bachchan that he presented on the occasion, adding zing to the enchanting atmosphere soaked in music and muse.

The Bollywood singer said in an informal chit-chat with Media how his voice matched with that of India's iconic singers like S.D. Burman, K.L. Saigal, Mukesh, Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Yesudas, S.B. Balasubrahmany, and the legendary Amitabh Bachchan. “I don't even know about how come! I consider it as the God's grace,” he added.

When asked about his voice matching that of Amitabh Bachchan, he said, “In fact, when I jokingly mimicked Amitabh Bachchan's dialogues with friends, they were very appreciative. I recorded his dialogues and listened to them myself attentively, which gave me enough confidence to believe what was talked about. Then there was no looking back. After that I started mimicking the superstar's dialogues on stage, and people lavished praises on me”

He further added that his association with the superstar was old, saying “He heard my dialogues and praised me and my craft. Later, when I sang the song 'Jumma Chumma De De', which was picturied on him, he showered me with immense love on me, adding that “I got an opportunity to tour with him during his world tour and standing next to him on stage, delivering his own dialogues”

He turned nostalgic as he recalls having performed with many a world-famous Punjabi singers at World Punjabi Day in Delhi. He was the only non-Punjabi singer there, he informs.

Sudesh Bhosle said that Punjabi songs and music in deeply entrenched in his heart. He explained that he had doled out with elan Punjabi version of some Hindi songs, like “Mujhe Neend Na Aaye, Mujhe Chain Na Aaye…” .
