Abohar resident Harjit Singh Hazara, who completed a nearly 4,000 km cycle expedition, was given a warm welcome by members of the Abohar Pedallers Club on reaching here.

He said that he completed the 3,926-km bicycle expedition from Kibithoo, a village located near the actual line of control (LAC) in Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh to Koteshwar, located near the mouth of Kori creek in Kutch district of Gujarat in 31 days. His primary goal was raising awareness among youth about drug abuse and promoting environmental conservation. His group included four other companions from Bathinda and Sriganganagar. He had also cycled from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in 2019.

Hazara said that today's young generation is ruining their lives by falling into drug addiction, and they need to be saved. He stated that young people should stay away from drugs and engage in some kind of sport, which will keep their bodies and minds healthy.
