CBI COURT SENTENCES TWO ORDNANCE FACTORY MANAGERS TO FIVE YEARS RI WITH FINE OF RS. 1.5 LAKH EACH IN BRIBERY

The CBI Court, Nagpur, on Wednesday convicted and sentenced two public servants of Ordnance Factory, Nagpur namely, Salilkant Sanatkumar Tiwari, Joint General Manager and Vineet Yadavrao Sorte, Junior Works Manager to Five Years Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) with a Fine of Rs. 1.5 Lakh each in a Bribery case. 

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered the instant case on 02.01.2012 on the allegation that Salilkant Sanatkumar Tiwari and Vineet Yadavrao Sorte had demanded a bribe of Rs. 22,000 from the complainant for releasing outstanding payment of Rs. 90,000 towards his firm and for further supply of material. Both the accused persons were trapped and caught red-handed on 03.01.2012 while demanding and accepting a bribe amount of Rs.22,000. 

After completion of investigation, CBI filed Charge Sheet on 17.10.2012.  The Hon’ble Court, after the trial, convicted and sentenced the accused persons accordingly.
