23 FOR FAZILKA ZP AND 77 FOR PS WITHDREW NOMINATIONS

District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu said that in view of the elections to be held on 14 December 2025, 23 candidates for Zila Parishad and 77 candidates for Panchayat Samitis from different zones have withdrawn their nomination papers.  

Additional District Election Officer-cum-Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Subhash Chander said that after 23 candidates withdrew their papers for Zila Parishad, 65 candidates were left in the fray. Similarly, after 77 candidates withdrew their papers from five Panchayat Samitis falling within the district, 416 candidates are in the fray. 

After the withdrawal of the candidates, 62 candidates for Panchayat Samiti Arniwala, 95 for Panchayat Samiti Fazilka, 106 for Panchayat Samiti Jalalabad, 93 for Panchayat Samiti Balluana (at Abohar) and 60 for Panchayat Samiti Khuian Sarwar (at Abohar) are left in the fray. 

He said that the elections for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samitis will be held on 14 December 2025 from 8 am to 4 pm. The counting of votes will be held on 17 December 2025 (Wednesday).
