CBI COURT SENTENCES RAILWAY ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT TO TWO YEARS RI IN BRIBERY

The CBI Court Kurnool  on Monday has convicted and sentenced Challa Sreenivasulu, Accounts Assistant, O/o. Sr. Divisional Finance Manager (Sr. DFM), South Central Railway, Guntakal Division, Guntakal, Andhra Pradesh to undergo Two Years Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) with a Fine of Rs.20,000 in a bribery Case.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered the instant case on 20.11.2017. It was alleged that the accused Challa Sreenivasulu, Accounts Assistant demanded bribe from the Complainant for processing the bill pertaining to the contract work done by him from July, 2017 to Sep, 2017 for an approx. amount of Rs.30 lakhs and also for previously sanctioned bills.

CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.15,000 from the Complainant.

After investigation, CBI filed chargesheet against the accused on 29.03.2018. The Hon’ble Court, after the trial, convicted and sentenced the accused person accordingly.
