Mr. Karan Gilhotra, Chair, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), Punjab State Chapter, has been appointed as a Member of the State Advisory Committee of the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) for the year 2026. The appointment is being seen as a significant step towards strengthening industry representation and stakeholder engagement in Punjab’s power sector policy and regulatory framework.

The State Advisory Committee of PSERC plays a crucial role in advising the Commission on key issues related to electricity generation, distribution, tariff determination, renewable energy integration, and consumer interests. With his extensive experience in industry leadership and policy advocacy, Mr. Gilhotra’s inclusion is expected to bring valuable insights from the business and industrial community to the regulatory process.

Mr. Gilhotra has been actively associated with PHDCCI and has consistently worked towards promoting industrial growth, ease of doing business, and sustainable economic development in Punjab. His appointment reflects the confidence reposed in his ability to contribute constructively to policy discussions that balance consumer welfare with the growth needs of industry and utilities.

Expressing his gratitude on the appointment, Mr. Karan Gilhotra said, “I am honoured to be appointed as a Member of the State Advisory Committee of PSERC for 2026. Reliable, affordable and sustainable power is the backbone of industrial growth and economic progress. I look forward to working closely with the Commission and other stakeholders to provide meaningful inputs that support energy efficiency, renewable energy adoption and a robust power ecosystem in Punjab.”

Industry observers believe that Mr. Gilhotra’s role on the committee will further strengthen collaboration between the regulatory authority and industry bodies, helping shape pragmatic and forward-looking electricity policies. The appointment underscores PHDCCI Punjab State Chapter’s growing role in policy advocacy and its commitment to contributing to Punjab’s long-term energy and economic development goals.
