Rajya Sabha Member and founder of the Trident Group, Padma Shri Rajinder Gupta, paid a courtesy call on Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi. During this important meeting, detailed discussions were held on various policy-related issues, including the country’s current economic situation, challenges faced by the textile industry, and future prospects.

During the meeting, Rajinder Gupta briefed the Finance Minister on the country’s industrial landscape, particularly the business environment in Punjab and North India. He appreciated the economic reforms undertaken by the central government over the past few years and the steps taken towards “Ease of Doing Business.” Rajinder Gupta stated that under the Finance Minister’s able leadership, the Indian economy is moving forward strongly despite global challenges.

Suggestions for the Textile Industry: As an experienced industrialist, Rajinder Gupta also shared several important suggestions to make the textile industry more competitive at the global level. He emphasized the need to strengthen the availability of raw materials, export incentive schemes, and financial support for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). He expressed confidence that government initiatives such as “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” would prove to be milestones in making the country a global manufacturing hub.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman listened attentively to the suggestions put forward by Rajinder Gupta and appreciated his efforts towards industrial development. She stated that the government is committed to resolving industry-related issues and formulating growth-friendly policies. Measures to strengthen the country’s middle class and rural economy were also discussed during the meeting.
