KVK WINS BEST KRISHI VIGYAN KENDRA AWARD

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), working under the ICAR-Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering Technology, Abohar has been conferred with the “Best Krishi Vigyan Kendra Award 2025 Punjab”.

The award, presented at Annual Zonal Workshop, honors KVK's dedication under the leadership of Director, CIPHET, Dr. Nachiket Kotwaliwale and guidance of Head, RS, Abohar Dr Amit Nath in recognition of its outstanding contributions to agricultural extension and farmer-centric development.

The award was presented to Dr Arvind Ahlawat, Head, KVK, during the Annual Zonal Workshop of Krishi Vigyan Kendras organized at SKUAST-Jammu under the aegis of ICAR–Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI).

Dr Kotwaliwale appreciated the consistent efforts of KVK in effectively translating agricultural research into field-level applications. He highlighted the Kendra’s notable work in crop residue management, value addition, and promotion of sustainable agricultural practices.

Dr Ahlawat expressed his gratitude to ICAR-ATARI and stated that the recognition is the result of collective efforts of the scientists and staff of the KVK, along with the active participation of progressive farmers of the district. He added that the award would further encourage the KVK to strengthen farmer-oriented extension activities and adopt need-based, technology-driven interventions
