Renowned writer and journalist Hardeep Kaur, actively engaged in Punjabi literature and social issues, was honoured with the Sahityakara Kiran Bedi Award by the International Literary Sath, Chandigarh, in recognition of her continuous literary activities, socially connected writing, and significant contributions to literature.

Notably, Hardeep Kaur’s acclaimed book ‘Shamshan Ghaat Saungiyan’ has already earned a distinct identity in Punjabi literature. The book was released by Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan, which is considered a major achievement in the literary world.

The award ceremony was organised on January 4 at Punjab Kala Bhawan, Sector-16, Chandigarh, during the third State-Level Kavi Darbar and the book-release event of the debut poetry collection ‘Teri Rehmat’. The programme witnessed a vibrant atmosphere of literary bonding, discussions, and creative activities.

(MOREPIC1) The chief guest of the event was Harbhajan Singh Bhagrath, President, Vishav Sahitik Sitare Manch (Regd.), Tarn Taran. The special guests included Babu Ram Deewana, President, Sahitya Kala Sabhyachar Manch (Regd.), Mohali, and Principal Bahadur Singh Gosal, President, Vishav Punjabi Prachar Sabha, Chandigarh.

The programme commenced with Shabad Gayan, followed by poetic recitations presented by poets and poetesses from various districts of Punjab and Delhi.

Speakers highlighted that Hardeep Kaur’s writings give voice to issues faced by marginalised sections of society, and her book ‘Shamshan Ghaat Saun geya' stands as a clear example of this commitment.
The guests were warmly welcomed by Rajvinder Singh Gaddu (President), Baljinder Kaur Shergill (General Secretary), Rajinder Singh Dhiman (Senior Vice President), and Dr Rajinder Renu (Vice President) of the organisation.

At the conclusion of the programme, the contributing writers featured in the book were honoured with books and mementoes.
