SAYS ADVOCATES MUST ADOPT MODERN TECHNOLOGY TO TACKLE GLOBAL CHALLENGES

The Hon’ble Chief Justice of India, Justice Surya Kant, said that advocates must adopt modern technologies to effectively deal with global challenges. He said that the use of modern technology in the judiciary is rapidly increasing. Court judgments are being translated into various languages across the country so that the common people can easily understand them.
(MOREPIC1)(MOREPIC2) (MOREPIC3)The Chief Justice was addressing judicial officers and advocates on Friday at a felicitation ceremony organized by the Hansi Bar Association at the local judicial complex. He said that the Indian judiciary has leveraged modern technology more effectively than anywhere else in the world. Considering the increasing workload on courts, necessary resources and facilities are being strengthened. The public has full faith in the country’s judiciary, and the judicial system has expanded both at the national and state levels.
He said that with the strengthening of the country’s economy, foreign investment has increased, leading to a rise in commercial litigation. Advocates should equip themselves with modern technology to compete with their counterparts at the global level and keep themselves updated. The nature of disputes in the country is changing, and the graph and nature of crime have also evolved, with cybercrimes on the rise. He noted that cases of digital arrest are increasing, and to deal with these, advocates must adopt modern technology under all circumstances. He emphasized that advocates play a major role in ensuring justice for the common people.
Chief Justice, Justice Surya Kant said that the state government has fulfilled a long-standing demand of the people of the region by making Hansi a district. After becoming a revenue district, the necessary process will be initiated to establish a sessions division here. Representatives of the state government have assured that land will be made available for this purpose. He requested the judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court as well as the District and Sessions Judge to provide an e-library facility in the Hansi judicial complex so that advocates can benefit from it. He said that the judiciary will ensure the availability of all essential facilities for advocates in the district court complex.
(SUBHEAD)He said that he has completed 22 years in judicial service. He congratulated the people of Hansi on the city becoming the 23rd district of Haryana. He said that Haryana has earned a name in the judicial system. Calling upon those present, he urged them to accept life’s challenges and emerge stronger to overcome them. He also advised advocates to overcome language barriers and gain proficiency in the English language. He added that the judiciary is promoting mediation.
The President of the Hansi District Bar Association, Pawan Rapadiya, welcomed the Chief Justice and other dignitaries. He honored Chief Justice, Justice Sh. Surya Kant by presenting a turban, stole, and a memento. Advocate Suman Rapadiya presented a shawl and memento to the Chief Justice’s wife, Smt. Savita Vashishth.
Earlier, on his arrival at the local Public Works Department Rest House, the Chief Justice was accorded a guard of honor. On this occasion, the State Public Works Minister Sh. Ranbir Gangwa and MLA Sh. Vinod Bhayana welcomed the Chief Justice by presenting bouquets.
Those present on the occasion included Judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court Justice Alka Sarin and Justice H. S. Sethi; District and Sessions Judge Alka; Additional District and Sessions Judges Gagandeep Mittal and Isha Khatri; ACJM Anuradha; Bar Association Secretary Suresh Soni; Amit Kohad; Treasurer Sunil Saini; and other members of the Bar Association.
