CBM DELEGATION MEETS SSP CHANDIGARH, RAISES CONCERNS OVER RECENT FIRING INCIDENTS

A delegation of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal, comprising Sanjiv Chadha, President, Charanjiv Singh, Chairman, Varider Gupta , Advisor ,Mohit Sood, Vice President, Balwinder Singh, General Secretary, and Radhey Lal Bajaj, Finance Secretary, called on Ms. Kanwarjit Kaur, IPS, SSP Chandigarh, at her office today.

The delegation raised concerns over recent incidents of firing on shops and residences of some traders in the city, which have created a sense of fear among the trading community. SSP Kaur assured the delegation that adequate measures have been taken to prevent such incidents in the future. She informed that one culprit has already been apprehended.

Sanjiv Chadha, President, Chandigarh Beopar Mandal, handed over a memorandum to the SSP, highlighting the concerns of the traders. The SSP also appealed to traders to get police verification done of all staff, especially personal security personnel.

A memorandum on behalf of Grain Market Association was also submitted to the SSP regarding rise of thefts in the Grain Market sector 26 cognisence of which was also taken up by the officer 

Dial 112 Immediately in Case of Unlawful Activity

On request from the SSP, the President of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal agreed to issue an appeal to citizens, especially traders, to dial the emergency phone number 112 immediately if they sense any unlawful activity in their area, whether in markets or residential areas.
