The campaign was conducted as part of Swachhata Pakhwada with the objective of creating awareness among the people about cleanliness and further strengthening the resolve of a clean and hygienic India.

A large number of sanitation workers, officers and staff of the Central Bureau of Communication, along with local residents, actively participated in the cleanliness drive. During the campaign, roads, public places and surrounding areas in various localities of Amritsar, including Basant Avenue, Green Avenue, White Avenue and Nirankari Colony, were thoroughly cleaned.

On this occasion, Gurmeet Singh, Head of the Central Communication Bureau, Amritsar, said that the Swachh Bharat Mission launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has transformed cleanliness into a mass movement across the country.
