CLEANLINESS DRIVE KICKSTARTED BY MINISTRY OF INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING ON REPUBLIC DAY

On the occasion of Republic Day, the Central Bureau of Communication, Amritsar, of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, organised a large-scale cleanliness drive in the town. The campaign was conducted as part of Swachhata Pakhwada with the objective of creating awareness among the people about cleanliness and further strengthening the resolve of a clean and hygienic India.

A large number of sanitation workers, officers and staff of the Central Bureau of Communication, along with local residents, actively participated in the cleanliness drive. During the campaign, roads, public places and surrounding areas in various localities of Amritsar, including Basant Avenue, Green Avenue, White Avenue and Nirankari Colony, were thoroughly cleaned.

On this occasion, Gurmeet Singh, Head of the Central Communication Bureau, Amritsar, said that the Swachh Bharat Mission launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has transformed cleanliness into a mass movement across the country. He appealed to the people to understand that cleanliness is not only the responsibility of the government, but also a collective duty of every citizen.

During the drive, people were encouraged to dispose off waste in dustbins, reduce the use of plastic and adopt hygienic habits. Local residents appreciated the initiative of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and stated that such campaigns help foster a positive mindset in society.

Through this cleanliness drive organised on Republic Day, it was conveyed that cleanliness is the foundation of a healthy, beautiful and developed India, and for turning this vision into reality, active participation of every citizen is essential.
