TWO NABBED WITH ARMS AND AMMUNITION

The police has nabbed two person and has recovered six pistols along with magazines and live rounds from them in two separate incidents.

SSP Bhupinder Singh said that following the inputs, a trap was laid during which the accused identified as Jaswinder Singh alias Baggu resident of Lakha Singh Wala Hithar in Mamdot area, was nabbed while he was travelling on a bike (PB 22 N 7809).

The SSP said that during the checking, three pistols including one GLOCK 17 Austria Made 9 mm with magazine and two rounds, one pistol (.30 bore with magazine and 8 live rounds) and one pistol (.30 bore with magazine) were recovered.

In other incident, one person identified as Sagar alias Teji, resident of city area was nabbed in Makhu and one pistol, two magazines and five live rounds were recovered from him. The SSP said that later two more pistols (.30 and .32 bore), two magazines were recovered based on the information provided by the accused.

Both the accused had been booked under Arms Act at Zira and Makhu police station respectively.

“The police is investigating that from where the accused had procured the firearms and where he was going to deliver them”, said SSP adding that one of the accused Sagar had already been booked in 7 cases under Arms and NDPS Act at various police stations
