The Resident Welfare Association elections of Sector 61, which had been a topic of discussion for several days, were held. Perhaps there was never as much political maneuvering in even the municipal corporation elections as was seen in this election. Today, the Naiyyar faction won all three posts by a large margin.

Counting Agent Vijay Puri informed that Suresh Kumar Garg, the candidate for the President’s post, secured 210 votes and defeated his rival Vineet Chauhan by 60 votes. For the General Secretary’s post, Naiyyar faction candidate Sheeshpal won with 204 votes. Similarly, Balakrishna Sharma, the candidate for Finance Secretary from the same faction, secured an unexpected victory with 220 votes.

In this entire election, the women and senior citizens of the sector played a major role. On this occasion, Hitesh Puri, President of CRAWFED and Dr. Anish Garg, General Secretary, were especially present. The residents of the sector credited senior citizen Anil Naiyyar for this complete victory. Former President S S Singh Lahri congratulated the newly appointed team by garlanding them with flowers.
