CHANDIGARH POLICE SOLVED MURDER CASE, NABBED ACCUSED FROM ZIRAKPUR

In a significant development, under the direction of Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur IPS, W/SSP UT, Chandigarh, and in the close supervision of Sh. Charanjit Singh Virk, SDPO/East, and a team of Police Station Industrial Area, headed by Insp Satnam Singh, SHO/PS-Industrial Area, SI Ravdeep Singh 1059/CHG, I/C PP Daria, Const. Ravinder Kumar 6341/CP, Const Krishan Singh 5072/CP, Const Ansul 163/CP and other police officials successfully arrested accused person in Murder case.

FIR No 18 dated 29.01.2026 U/S 103(1) BNS, Police Station Industrial Area, UT, Chandigarh.

This case has been registered on the complaint of Sh. Prem Parkash Tiwari S/o Sh. Om Parkash Tiwari R/o H No 249,Gurudwara wali Gali Village Dariya Age 37 years, in which he stated that “I have been residing alone as a tenant at the above-mentioned address for the last three years. I am a permanent resident of Village Karowapara, Intiyathok, District Gonda, Uttar Pradesh.

(SUBHEAD)We are three brothers and two sisters. I work as an auto-rickshaw driver on rent at Railway Station, Chandigarh. My brother Arun Kumar, age 31 years, was also working as an auto-rickshaw driver at Railway Station, Chandigarh. He used to bring passengers from the Railway Station to GP Royal Hotel, Village Dariya, arrange rooms for them, and he himself used to stay at the said hotel”.

Further, he stated that on 28.01.2026 at, about 08:00 PM, a quarrel took place between my brother Arun Kumar and Vishal at Railway Station, Chandigarh, over some matter. I intervened and pacified both of them. Thereafter he stated that, earlier also, my brother Arun had told me that Vishal had quarrelled with him before and had threatened to kill him. Since Vishal belonged to my native district, I explained and advised him at that time.

Today, I came to know that my brother Arun and Vishal both came separately in their respective auto-rickshaws with passengers to GP Royal Hotel, where both of them sat on the top floor of the hotel and had food. There, again, a quarrel took place between them. By the time I reached there, Vishal had picked up a knife from the kitchen located near the place of quarrel and, with the intention to kill, attacked my brother repeatedly with the knife, causing serious injuries.

Thereafter, my brother was taken to the hospital for treatment, but on the way, my brother Arun Kumar died. Vishal killed my brother Arun by repeatedly attacking him with a knife. If Vishal comes before me, I can identify him properly.

During investigation, accused person Auto Driver Vishal Mishra S/o Daya Shankar Mishra R/o House No. 1261, Saini Vihar PH 3, Peer Baba Road Baltana Zirakpur PB, age 26 years was arrested and produced before the Hon'ble Court and 02 days police remand obtained.

Previous Involvement Case FIR No 193/2024, U/s 309(6), 3(5), Added 317(2) BNS, PS Sector 31, Chandigarh. The collaborative effort by Sh. Charanjit Singh Virk, SDPO/East, Insp. Satnam Singh, SHO/PS-Industrial Area, have indeed made a significant impact in reducing and controlling crime in the jurisdiction of PS Industrial Area, UT, Chandigarh.
