In a significant development for the city’s business community, renowned and dynamic businessman Ajay Gupta has been unanimously elected as the President of the Chandigarh Business Council (CBC).

The decision was taken during a meeting of the CBC Governing Committee, reflecting strong confidence in his leadership and vision. The committee decided that the new term should witness the younger generation taking charge, so that new ideas, modern technology, and progressive thinking could be integrated into the organization’s functioning.

The CBC has long been working for the growth, welfare, and problem-solving of the business fraternity, and this transition is being viewed as a visionary step. Ajay Gupta, who previously served as Vice President of CBC, has now been appointed President, ensuring both continuity and innovation. His elevation was warmly welcomed by members, who believe that his experience and energy will further strengthen the Council’s role as a strong representative of traders, entrepreneurs, and the industrial sector.

Expressing his gratitude after the announcement, Ajay Gupta said he felt deeply honored and proud of the trust reposed in him by the CBC Governing Committee and all its members. He extended heartfelt thanks to all past and present chairpersons, presidents, the executive team, and esteemed members of CBC for giving him the opportunity to lead this responsible and prestigious institution.

He stated that by working collectively, introducing new ideas, adopting modern technology, and strengthening CBC as a progressive platform, he aims to establish it as the true and leading representative of the business fraternity.

Under Ajay Gupta’s leadership, CBC is expected to adopt a more modern, inclusive, and solution-oriented approach that will help address emerging challenges and create new opportunities for the business community of Chandigarh. Senior CBC members including Satpal Bansal, Neeraj Bajaj, Jagdish Arora, Sukhpal Singh, Chander Verma, Satpal Garg, Subhash Sethi, Lucky Sahni, Kamal Gupta, Sunil Bansal, Ashwani Khanna, Lakhmi Chand, Arun Malhotra, Baldev Goel, JPS Kalra, Arun Talwar, Sanjay Dahuja, and Sanjay Pahwa, among several other prominent members, were present during the announcement.
