Continuing their Swachh Abohar Abhiyan, the volunteers of “Apna Abohar, Apni Abha” on Saturday organised a special camp to clean and beautify the mini park that had been developed with their contribution under the Rail Overbridge which connects Abohar town with the state highway.

The team led by MLA Sandeep Jakhar carried out cleaning work in the presence of Mayor Vimal Thatai and other distinguished citizens. Heart and Chest specialist Dr. Naveen Sethi joined the campaign and appreciated the untiring efforts being made by volunteers to bring awareness on Swachh Abohar besides motivating people to shun single-use plastic that proved dangerous for the environment besides the sewage system.

Mayor Thatai said that the Municipal Corporation had made elaborate arrangements for door-to-door collection of dry and wet waste by deploying tippers and hand-pulled rehris. He appealed to citizens to avoid throwing waste in the streets in residential colonies and roads in commercial areas.

MLA Jakhar said that no stone will be left unturned to make Abohar a clean city.
