UT CHANDIGARH ADMINISTRATIONS ENHANCED RATES OF VARIOUS WELFARE SCHEMES FOR ARMED FORCES

Chandigarh Administration has approved the revision of rates under various welfare schemes funded through the Armed Forces Flag Day (AFFD) Fund, in recognition of the invaluable services rendered by the Armed Forces.

Under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner-cum-President, Zila Sainik Board, Chandigarh, the rates of welfare schemes have now been enhanced. The revised rates have been notified by the Home Department, Chandigarh Administration vide Notification dated 06.03.2026. The previous enhancement was done in year 2013.

Revised Welfare Measures:

• Monthly assistance to visually impaired ESM/wards: ₹1200 → ₹3000
• Monthly assistance to mentally challenged wards: ₹1200 → ₹3000
• Monthly assistance to 100% disabled ESM (post-retirement): ₹1000 → ₹3000
• Monthly assistance to ESM released with 100% disability: ₹1200 → ₹3000
• Assistance to ESM undergoing treatment in paraplegic centres: ₹1200 → ₹3000
• One-time financial assistance to ESM/widows in distress:
o ₹15,000 → ₹50,000 (DC-cum-President)
o ₹10,000 → ₹25,000 (ZSWO)

A new scheme has been introduced to provide ₹3000 per month to wards of Ex-servicemen who are orthopedically handicapped (75% or above) and unable to earn their livelihood.

Eligible beneficiaries are advised to contact the Zila Sainik Welfare Office, Chandigarh for further details and application procedures.
