ADMINISTRATOR HIGHLIGHTS STEPS TO RESOLVE CBM’S PENDING ISSUES

The grand Founders’ Day and Traders’ Day celebration organized by the Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (CBM), a leading traders’ body of the city, turned out to be a historic event. The massive participation of traders reflected unity and strength of the trading community under the banner of CBM. Punjab Governor and Administrator of Chandigarh, Gulab Chand Kataria, and Chairman of the National Traders Welfare Board, Sunil J. Singhi, graced the occasion as chief guests.

The event began with a welcome address by Sanjiv Chadda, who highlighted the issues faced by traders and expressed gratitude to the dignitaries.

Gulab Chand Kataria shared details about the steps being taken by the Chandigarh administration to resolve the long-pending issues of CBM, including improving law and order and extending support to small traders. He appreciated the unity of the trading community.

Sunil J. Singhi elaborated on the Central Government’s policies and the reforms introduced by the Modi government for the development of medium traders. He highlighted GST reforms and measures for ease of compliance, stating that these steps would help India become the third-largest economy in the world. He also congratulated Charanjiv Singh on his nomination as a member of the National Traders Welfare Board.

Tribute to Late Inder Lal Batra

A lamp was lit in memory of Late Inder Lal Batra, and his wife was honoured. A booklet on his life and achievements, compiled by Diwakar Sahoonja, was also released.

Successful Blood Donation Camp : A blood donation camp was organized during the event, where 120 units of blood were collected, marking a significant achievement.

CBM Chairman and member of the National Traders Welfare Board, Charanjiv Singh, expressed gratitude to all dignitaries and the Board for addressing several demands of the traders.

Sanjiv Chadda stated that the event proved to be one of the largest and most historic gatherings of traders in recent times.
