CBI COURT SENTENCES FORMER CHIEF YARD MASTER, AGRA CANTT. RAILWAY STATION TO FOUR YEARS IMPRISONMENT IN BRIBERY

The CBI Court Ghaziabad on Monday has convicted and sentenced the accused Rafi Ahmad, the then Chief Yard Master, Agra Cantt. Railway Station, Agra (U.P.) to Imprisonment for 04 Years with a Fine of Rs. 10,000 in a bribery case.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered the instant case on 04.07.2015 against the said accused. It was alleged that the accused Rafi Ahmad demanded illegal gratification of Rs.30,000 from the contractor/ complainant instead of reducing the penalty imposed on the contractor for not performing satisfactorily the work of loading/ unloading of the Guards Line Boxes in trains.

The CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while accepting Rs.5,000 as first instalment of the demanded illegal gratification from the complainant .

After Investigation, CBI filed Chargesheet on 24.11.2015 against the accused public servant Rafi Ahmad.The Hon’ble Court, after the trial, convicted and sentenced the accused accordingly.
