OPPOSITION SHOULD COOPERATE AMID GLOBAL CRISIS, AVOID SPREADING MISINFORMATION: CM, CM TARGETS AAP OVER CORRUPTION AND UNFULFILLED PROMISES

Face2News/Chandigarh

A Cabinet meeting was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini. The meeting lasted for nearly six hours, during which a total of 31 agenda items were presented, out of which 18 were approved.

Addressing journalists during the press conference held after the meeting, the Chief Minister said that vacancies for B. Pharma posts were remaining unfilled due to the non-availability of suitable candidates. Considering the long-pending demand, relaxation has now been given in the requirement of six months’ training for the recruitment of B. Pharma officers.

In response to another question, he said that employees were facing difficulties in obtaining loans. Keeping these issues in mind, a provision has been reintroduced to provide loans through the AG (Accountant General).

Replying to a question regarding gas supply issues, the Chief Minister said that due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, this problem is being faced globally. The entire world is affected by it. Therefore, the government has decided to promote the use of PNG connections in place of LPG. At present, there are about 5 lakh PNG connection holders in the state, but nearly 2 lakh consumers are not using them.

The Chief Minister said that the Opposition had also spread misinformation during the COVID period. To overcome the current global challenge, efforts should be made with a spirit of cooperation, and people should be encouraged to adopt PNG connections. He added that strict action is being taken to curb black marketing of gas. Additionally, alternatives such as solar stoves and electric plates/stoves should be used. He informed that 10 companies are currently supplying PNG. Due to raw material issues, there were challenges in laying pipelines, but now the government has issued directions to treat such cases as deemed permission to expedite the work and enhance PNG supply.

In response to another question, the Chief Minister said that amendments made in the affordable housing policy will apply only to flat owners. He also alleged that the AAP, which talks about absolute honesty, is involved in corruption. He claimed that former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal spent ₹33 crore on his residence.

The Chief Minister further said that in Punjab, elderly citizens are struggling to receive pensions. The government had promised ₹2,500 but is not even providing ₹1,500. He added that women were promised ₹1,100, but even registration has not started yet. He alleged that the AAP government may transfer money to women’s accounts before elections to secure votes. He also said that crops are not being procured at MSP for farmers. He said the AAP government has served itself rather than the public, which led to its complete defeat in Delhi and will result in a similar outcome in Punjab.
