20 PACKETS OF HEROIN RECOVERED NEAR INDO-PAK BORDER

Under a special campaign, a team from Police Station Sadar, Jalalabad in Fazilka district, along with the Border Security Force, recovered heroin weighing 10 kg 950 grams from near the Indo-Pak border.

Senior Superintendent of Police Gagan Ajit Singh said that Sub Inspector, Jagrup Singh, Station House Officer, Police Station Sadar, Jalalabad, along with the police party and checking staff, was present in the area when they received information from BSF Assistant Commandant Mukesh Kumar over the phone that a packet had been found in the fields near the border fence of village Prabhat Singh Wala Hithar, which appeared to be linked to international smugglers.

Accordingly, Gursewak Singh, DSP was called to the spot and, along with the BSF party, the team searched the packet. Inside it, 20 packets wrapped in yellow-coloured adhesive tape were found, containing heroin weighing 10 kg 950 grams. The case was registered at the Police Station under Sections 21(C), 23/61/85 of the NDPS Act. Investigation was underway to identify the accused.
