3 SMUGGLERS ARRESTED ALONG WITH MOTORCYCLES, 2 GLOCK PISTOLS AND 50 GRAMS OF HEROIN

Three smugglers have been arrested by police station Sadar Fazilka team and illegal weapons and drugs have been recovered from their possession.

A police party led by ASI Ramesh Kumar was present on the Fazilka-Ferozepur road for patrolling and checking suspicious men, when three youths were seen standing near a motorcycle Hero Splendour near the HP petrol pump, who on seeing the police party started the motorcycle and tried to flee. The police party searched the youth on the basis of suspicion and found 2 Glock pistols with magazines, 4 live rounds and 50 grams of heroin from them.

The arrested smugglers were identified as Ravinder Singh alias Ravi, resident of Machhiwara, Ranjit Singh alias Jita and Nishan Singh alias Dhamu, residents of Bareka, Ferozepur. A case under 21, 29/61/85 NDPS Act, 25/54/59 Arms Act has been registered at Sadar Fazila police station.

SSP Gagan Ajit Singh said that during the preliminary investigation, it has come to light that the said illegal weapons were ordered by the arrested accused from Pakistan on September 4 through a drone. During the investigation, the upstream and downstream links of the network are being detected. Along with this, investigations are also underway to identify other individuals and foreign-based operatives involved in the supply of illegal arms and narcotics.
