The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has busted a cross-border drug smuggling network with the arrest of three persons and recovery of 30.672 kg heroin from a Hyundai Verna car on the Ferozepur-Fazilka road.

The arrested accused have been identified as Anmolpreet Singh alias Anmol (24) and Anshpreet Singh alias Ansh (25), both residents of Ferozepur city, and Akash Singh alias Akash (22), a resident of Gulam Pattra village and presently staying in the city. The car bearing registration number PB-77-5973 was also seized.

DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav said preliminary investigation revealed that the consignment was sent across the International Border by Pakistan-based smuggler Shah Pathan and received near village Ali Ke in Ferozepur for further transportation and distribution.

ADGP ANTF Nilabh Kishore said the arrests followed specific intelligence regarding the consignment’s movement. ANTF teams led by SP ANTF Ferozepur Range Gurinderbir Singh laid a trap on the Ferozepur-Fazilka road and intercepted the vehicle.

The seizure comes days after Punjab Police and BSF had jointly recovered 30.200 kg heroin and arrested two persons in Ferozepur.

A case, FIR No. 177 dated August 10, 2026, under Sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act, has been registered at Police Station ANTF, SAS Nagar. Further investigation is underway.
