42,000 SAPLINGS PLANTED ACROSS JAIPUR MILITARY STATION

As part of Van Mahotsav 2026, Jaipur Military Station (JMS) conducted a comprehensive Green Drive to promote environmental conservation, enhance green cover and foster greater community participation in sustainable practices. As many as 42,000 saplings were planted across Jaipur Military Station through a collaborative effort involving military units, Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV), Army Public School (APS), Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) and partner NGOs during the past two weeks.

A wide range of awareness and community outreach activities were organised throughout the campaign. These included environmental awareness programmes by NCC cadets of Army Public School, environment-themed drawing competitions at Army Public School and various RWAs, as well as educational plays and Nukkad Natak presented by students of Army Public School and Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2, highlighting the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable living.

To promote scientific plantation practices, expert lectures and interactive sessions on plantation techniques, maintenance and post-plantation care were conducted by an officer from the Forest Department, Government of Rajasthan, along with environmental experts from participating NGOs.

The plantation drive was undertaken in military units, Central Institutions and RWAs. Riyasat Foundation contributed 5,000 saplings, while Aadhar Shodh Sansthan and Countree Foundation undertook the plantation of 25,000 and 12,000 saplings, respectively. Both NGOs carried out the plantation using the Miyawaki method and committed to maintaining the plantations for a period of one year to ensure a high survival rate and sustainable growth.
