5 SIGNAL BATTALION PAYS TRIBUTE TO MARTYR SUB-INSPECTOR SANJAY KUMAR

The Headquarters of the 05 Signal Battalion, located at Hallo Majra, organized a Martyr Honour Ceremony at the residence of brave martyr Sub-Inspector Sanjay Kumar in Vishranti City, Zirakpur.

In compliance with the directions of the Directorate General and under the guidance of Vishal Kandwal, Commandant, 05 Signal Battalion, officers and personnel of the battalion visited the martyr’s residence to pay their respects. During the ceremony, they informed the gathering about the exceptional bravery displayed by Martyr Sanjay Kumar.

The attendees were told that on June 25, 2016, personnel of the 161 Battalion came under heavy terrorist attack when terrorists opened indiscriminate fire and hurled grenades at their bus. Instead of being intimidated by the sudden assault, the soldiers responded courageously and fought back with determination, successfully eliminating two dreaded terrorists.

During the ceremony, Vishranti City President Ram Kumar Sharma, Senior Citizens Association President Rajinder Sharma, Mandeep Chaudhary, Major Om Prakash, Barinder Singh, and Rajesh Sharma were also present. All those in attendance expressed their heartfelt gratitude and respect towards the family of Martyr Sanjay Kumar for their sacrifice and contribution to the nation.
