Himachal based Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences has been placed in the Excellent category – the highest band – in the Atal Rankings of Institutions on Innovations and Achievements (ARIIA).
The rankings were announced by the Union Education ministry which ranks institutions of higher learning every year for their performance in bringing in innovations and achievements.
Out of 1200 universities in the country, there are 36 institutes and universities in this band and Shoolini University is among the top five in the Northern region and the only university from Himachal with this band.
Chancellor Prof P K Khosla, while congratulating the faculty and the researchers said that the pioneering work being done by the university is now being recognised by the government as well as the people.
(SUBHEAD)Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla said that the university missed the top ten ranks in the country by a whisker and said he was confident that it would figure among the top ten ranks next year.
Last year, Shoolini University was placed in the band from six to 25 and was the only private university from Himachal Pradesh to rank in the band. The universities and other institutions of higher learning were ranked in different categories like government institutions, institutions for eminent and private institutions.
