Chandigarh,/Panipat (Face2News)

Haryana Police has arrested three persons for demanding Rs 10 lakh as extortion from a trader in the name of a gangster in Panipat district.

Sharing the details, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that Panipat police received a complaint by a Gaushala mandi trader alleging that on January 11, he received a call from a man who introduced himself as gangster Kala Jathedi and demanded Rs 10 lakh extortion money. The caller also threatened with dire consequences if he didn't pay the money.

Based on the complaint, a case was registered in this matter. The police team, while continuously investigating various technical aspects, gathered strong information and arrested the accused identified as Ajay, Sunil alias Sahil and Akhil, all residents of Noltha in Panipat.(SUBHEAD)

The primary probe reveals that all three accused had made a plan to make quick bucks. Both Akhil and Sunil already knew the trader as they used to sell crops at his shop. The accused, along with Ajay, made an app on the phone and made a call demanding extortion of Rs 10 lakh in the name of Kala Jathedi.

In the past, by showing such fear on the phone, an extortion of Rs 25 lakh was demanded from a resident of Sector-25, Panipat, in the name of Neeraj Bawana gang. Panipat police had successfully solved the above incident within two days and managed to arrest the accused, he added.
