KALAYAT MUNICIPALITY OFFICIAL AWARDED FIVE YEAR IMPRISONMENT IN CORRUPTION CASE

The Court of Additional Sessions Judge, Kaithal convicted a government official posted in Municipal Committee, Kalayat, and sentenced him to five years in jail in a corruption case.

Sharing the details, a spokesperson of the Haryana State Vigilance Bureau said that the court has also imposed Rs 25,000 fine on the convict.

The guilty, identified as Sandeep Kumar, posted as Clerk in the Municipal Committee, Kalayat was arrested by the vigilance team during a raid while accepting a bribe of Rs 4000 from the complainant in lieu of performing official duty.

The court has sentenced the imprisonment of 3-years along with Rs 10000 fine to the guilty official under section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act and 5-years imprisonment with a fine of Rs 15000 under section 13 of Prevention of Corruption Act in a case registered against him in the year 2016.
