RANJI TROPHY: PUNJAB BEAT HARYANA BY 10 WICKETS

Punjab beat Haryana by 10 wickets in the Group F league match of Ranji Trophy at Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi. With Punjab controlling the game from day one, it was only a matter of time before they scored an outright win, fetching seven points.

Haryana, who were gasping at 149 runs for four in their second innings and trailing Punjab by 13 runs at stumps on day three, ended up with at 203 runs as Punjab produced a fine bowling effort courtesy Baltej Singh (3/17), Siddharth Kaul (2/75), Abhishek Sharma (3/15) , Sanvir (1/26) & Arshdeep (1/50).

Top scorers from Haryana in their 2nd innings were Nishant Sandhu (57), YR Sharma (32) and Anshul Kamboj (24).
Punjab needed just 42 runs for a big win and they knocked it off in just 8.5 overs with Prabhsimran Singh (25) and Captain Abhishek Sharma (20) in the middle.

With the emphatic win, Punjab has revived their Ranji campaign after having collected just three points from the previous game.

Haryana's batting let them down again; they were bundled out for 282 in the first innings, thanks to some excellent bowling attack by Punjab Baltej Singh (4/57), Siddharth Kaul (3/63) and Arshdeep Singh (3/54).

Punjab had made 444 in the first innings, thanks to a Mandeep Singh’s unbeaten knock of 159 and Anmol Malhotra’s 100. Mandeep Singh was declared the Man of the Match.
