In a major breakthrough Chandigarh Police Crime Branch’s team cracked the whip on the drug paddlers, with the apprehension of drug paddler namely Amit Kumar @ Derry (22) R/o # 1024, Sec.52, Chandigarh.
On May 12, a Police party headed by SI Neeraj Kumar under the supervision of Insp. Satvinder Singh was on patrolling duty in the area of Police Station Sector-31, Chandigarh with regard to prevention and control. When the team was near Indian Oil Petrol Pump, Ind. Area, Ph.2, Chandigarh.
(SUBHEAD)At evening time one boy carrying a bag on his shoulders came from the Poultry farm chowk toward Ind. Area Ph.2, Slip road and swiftly turned back on seeing the police party. On the basis of suspicion he was apprehended with the help of police official, he disclosed his name as Amit Kumar @ Derry, during this process 540 gram heroin was recovered from his possession. International value of this drug is about 40 lac. Consequently, Case FIR No. 77 Dated 12.5.2022 U/S 21 NDPS Act, PS-31, Chandigarh registered against drug peddler Ami Kumar @ Derry
MODUS OPERANDI: During investigation the accused Amit Kumar @ Derry revealed that he used to smuggle the drug from Delhi to Chandigarh in the cavity of high heel’s lady sandals, which was also recovered on in instance from the jungle area of Sector 43, Chandigarh.
Accused Amit Kumar @ Derry has a tainted past and has been arrested by the Chandigarh Police in FIR No.246 dated 22.9.2021 dated U/S 31 NDPS Act PS-39, UT, Chandigarh
Accused Amit Kumar @ Derry was produced before the Hon’ble District Court and police remand has been obtained to ascertain the sources of origin of recovered contraband drugs and name of person (s), whom, it to be sell in tricity by arrested accused.
