MURDER OF SARVESH SINGH, EX-MLA FROM UTTAR PRADESH: LIFE IMPRISONMENT TO SEVEN

The Additional Sessions Judge, Azamgarh(Uttar Pradesh) has sentenced seven accused S/Shri Dhruv Singh, Mrityunjaya Singh, Dinesh Singh, Rajender Yadav, Sangram Singh, Durg Vijay Singh & Shiv Prakash to undergo Life Imprisonment in a case related to murder of Shri Sarvesh Singh, Ex-MLA and his Associate Shri Bharat Rai. 

CBI had registered a case on 26.11.2013 on the request of Uttar Pradesh Government and had taken over the investigation of the case earlier registered vide Crime No.348/2013 dated 19.07.2013 at Police Station, Jiyanpur, District: Azamgarh( Uttar Pradesh).

It was alleged that on 19.07.2013, Shri Sarvesh Singh, Ex-MLA was murdered during firing outside his house at Jiyanpur. His associate Shri Bharat Rai was also shot dead during the incident by two assailant, who after firing escaped on a black colour Hero Splender Motor Cycle with the help of third assailant who was driving the motor cycle. A chargesheet was filed by the State Police against the accused on 23.10.2013. 

After thorough investigation, CBI filed a chargesheet against the accused following the case had been re-registered by CBI. Trial of one accused was separated as he was found Juvenile, while proceedings against one accused abated who had died in due course. 

The Trial Court found the said accused guilty and convicted them.
