TRIBUTES PAID TO MEERA DEVI KHATRI

Abohar MLA Sandeep Jakhar, Fazilka ex-MLA Dr Mohinder Rinwa and Municipal Corporation Mayor Vimal Thatai joined hundreds of people in paying floral tributes to Meera Devi Khatri w/o late philanthropist and veteran social worker Gauri Shanker Khatri at the prayer meeting held at Sangam Palace in Abohar on Sunday.

GS Khatri has been one of the close associates of former Lok Sabha Speaker Bal Ram Jakhar. Meera Devi was revered as the strength behind the success of her husband who had earned name and fame in dyes and chemical business.

Others present included Gaushala president Faquir Chand Goyal, retd SDM BL Sikka, Meera College chief Dr Gauri Shanker Mittal, prominent designer Jagat Verma, Guru Kripa chief Madan Lal Bhalotia, Ladies Club president Rama Chhabra, Lions Club ex-president Ravinder Sachdeva and City Congress president ML Thatai. They expressed sympathies with BL Khatri, eldest son of the deceased and President of RSD Girls High School.

A team from Shri Ramsharnam recited Amrit Vani and presented melodious bhajans on the occasion.
