On 25-05-2022, a complainant R/o Satbadi, Mehrauli came to PS Mehrauli at about 11 PM and informed that he along with his mother and sister aged 38 years reside at Satbadi, Mehrauli.
Further he reported that his sister had been kidnapped and he was receiving extortion calls/messages from the number of his sister. He also informed that kidnappers had also sent him a photo of his sister in which her hands were tied with a rope and mouth with a cloth. On her statement, a case under relevant sections of law was immediately registered and investigation was taken up.
Looking in to the gravity of case immediately, a team led by Insp P C Yadav SHO/Mehrauli, consisting of Insp. Manoj Kumar (Bravo), SI Ankit Sharma, ASI Sunil, HC Narender, Ct Sanjay, Ct Dinesh, Ct Naseeb and W/Ct Pooja was constituted under the supervision of Sh. Vinod Narang ACP/Mehrauli.
(SUBHEAD)Mr. M. Harsha Vardhan , IPS, Addl. DCP, South Distt., said, during investigation of the case, the team visited the house of the complainant and gathered CCTV Footage of the area. The footage was checked thoroughly wherein it was revealed that the victim had left her home at 04:11 PM on 24-05-2022. After that, the nearby CCTV footage were checked but no clue could be found. The Mobile phone of the victim was found to be switched off only available on WhatsApp through which the alleged kidnappers were communicating. Through technical analysis, the location was traced to a locality in Agra at about 1 AM.
Immediately, a team from PS Mehrauli departed to Agra and based on last location, the team searched approx 50 hotels and resorts. During checking in a hotel in Tajganj Market, Agra, entry of the victim was found to be made in the register of that hotel wherein the victim wasfound to have checked in alone in a room of that hotel. On checking, the victim was found present in the room.
After that, the victim was examined about the incidence then she stated that she was going through financial crisis and was in need of money so to fulfill her need of money she herself hatched a plan to stage her kidnapping and demanded ransom from her brother in lieu of her release.
She further stated that she herself tied her hand with a rope and mouth with cloth and also converted her voice into male voice with the help of an app and sent the same to her brother for ransom. Later on, the rope and cloth used by her for tying herself was recovered at her instance from the same room along with mobile having app which she used to convert her voice into male voice.
She was brought to Delhi and was arrested under relevant sections of law for extortion.Investigation of the case is under progress.
