INTERNS SHOULD MAKE THE MOST OF THEIR INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME BY ENHANCING THEIR OBSERVATIONAL, RESEARCH AND ANALYTICAL SKILLS

Interns from State Legal Services Authority, Chandigarh made a visit to the Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) on Thursday to acquire knowledge about the Commission and its functioning. 

While welcoming the interns, Mrs. Harjinder Kaur, Chairperson, CCPCR, Chandigarh highlighted that for the Child protection and welfare, Commission has not been working only just as a monitoring body rather it is working in participatory mode with all the stakeholders. This approach of the Commission has proved beneficial in the effective implementation of various laws and acts which are meant to be for child protection. This can be seen in various initiatives taken on the part of the Commission. 

(SUBHEAD)Mr. Sanjay Sharma, Member, CCPCR told the students to stay motivated and stress-free in pursuing their goals. He further added that they should gain plenty of knowledge and use that properly to excel in all walks of life. 

Mr. Kartar Singh, Legal Consultant, CCPCR, and Mrs. Ankita, POCSO Consultant, CCPCR gave detailed knowledge to interns about various activities taken by the Commission under Juvenile Justice Act-2015, Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act-2012, Right to Education Act-2009, etc. They further highlighted the important initiatives such as ‘Girls India Project’, ‘Digital Library’, ‘Haste Angan’ of CCPCR to make the Chandigarh-A child-Friendly City.
