NCB AND CHANDIGARH POLICE BURNT DRUGS WORTH BILLION OF RUPEES

The first ever joint Drug Destruction was done by Narcotics Control Bureau and Chandigarh Police. The event was presided by Sh. Gyaneshwar Singh, Deputy Director General, Northern Region NCB. NCB burnt 101.260 Kgs of Heroin seized in 12 cases, whereas Chandigarh Police has destroyed 1.053 Kgs Heroin, 0.495 Kgs Charas, 0.250 Kgs Poppy Husk, 16.6 Kgs Ganja, 48 Buprenorphine/ Pheniramine injections, 904 Tramadol Hydrochloride capsules in 36 cases.

Sh. Gyaneshwar Singh, Deputy Director General, Northern Region NCB conveyed the message Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji ‘Through this Pakhwada, more and more people, especially the youth, will become aware of the danger of drugs and the spirit of 'Sabka Prayas' will be intensified to realize the dream of a drug free India.’(SUBHEAD)

Sh. Gyaneshwar Singh, Deputy Director General, Northern Region NCB also spoke of the message Hon'ble Home Minister Shri Amit Shah ji regarding this Pakhwada ‘Take an active part in this war against drug addiction, I believe that with the collective efforts of all the people, the problem of drug addiction can be eradicated from the root’.

The others present included Shri Amanjit Singh, IRS, Zonal Director, NCB, Chandigarh, Shri Nikhil Kumar, IRS, Deputy Director, DRI , Chandigarh , Mr. Manoj Kumar Meena, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police Crime Branch, Sh. Mohinder Jit Singh, Assistant Director, NCB, Mr. Rajnish, DSP (Crime), Smt. Meera Kumari Meena, Superintendent and other officers.

Sh. Gyaneshwar Singh, Deputy Director General, Northern Region NCB also informed that ‘Nashe se Azadi’ Pakhwada is being celebrated from 12 – 26 June, 2022.

Series of event like Road Run/Road Relay had organized at Sukhna Lake on 12.06.2022, in which around 600 participants and 2000 spectators were present. The ongoing events include pocket movie making competition & e-pledge competition which is being organized in State of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and UT Chandigarh.
